Broomfield Trails Marathon Set for October 13

Early bird registration for marathon, relay and half marathon ends June 30

Broomfield, CO — After a successful inaugural running, the Broomfield Trails Marathon is returning to Broomfield on Sunday, October 13. Runners and walkers will have an opportunity to participate in the marathon, marathon relay, half marathon, 10K and 5K races.

All of the races will begin at the Broomfield Community Park near 1st Ave. and Spader Way and will incorporate multiple trails and open spaces throughout Broomfield, Westminster and Boulder County. Race participants will enjoy panoramic mountain views and volunteer support along their routes until they cross the finish line back at the civic center. Following the race, participants and spectators can enjoy a post-race party and expo in the community park.

“Last year’s marathon was a great success, raising over $26,000 for the community. We are grateful to all the runners, walkers, spectators and volunteers who came out to support the city’s first marathon,” said Broomfield Rotary Club member and race chair John O’Hayre. “This year we hope to make it even better, as we strive to be a top-rated race in the state.”

Interested participants can register for the race at An early bird discount for the marathon, marathon relay and half marathon is available until June 30. Proceeds from the multi-race event will benefit A Precious Child’s programs and other charities in Colorado through the Broomfield Rotary Charitable Foundation.

Both non-profits partner with other organizations to provide a positive impact for the area. The Broomfield Rotary Club has donated more than $1 million over the past decade to charitable causes, while A Precious Child has supported more than 450 agency partners in eight surrounding counties to provide opportunities and resources to children and families in need.
